Living in London, space is always at a premium wherever you live. The question is: how you can make the best use of your space to improve the enjoyment of your time at home?


Older buildings were designed to retain heat through the creation of smaller rooms, corridors, and entrance porches. This is no lon- ger relevant for modern living as we now have improved technolo- gy for excellent insulation. We now need fewer, but larger spaces, designed for today’s lifestyle. Imagine a property with a long thin living room on the ground floor. Now imagine removing a dividing wall and incorporating the corridor into the existing living space. It will change the whole user experience and the line of sight, from the front to the back of the house. For apartments the opportunity of improving layouts has even more potential.


Landmass has developed/designed over 50 properties and won numerous design awards. We have created a philosophy of design that we call “Volumetric Design”. The art is in enhancing the user experience by implementing the elegant simplicity of timeless el- egant design. We do this by focusing primarily on special layout improvement, keeping the number of finishes to a minimum, with the maxim of “Less is More”.
