COMING together for a night of celebration, Barrhead Travel Group, along with partners and influential travel bodies, celebrated 50 years of success and growth on June 12th at Fruitmarket, Glasgow. Founded in 1975 in a small Glasgow suburb called Barrhead, the travel agency group has grown from a small single high street unit to one of the UK’s most respected travel agency groups. With five decades of change, challenges and innovative manners, Barrhead Travel has introduced a bespoke Training Academy, chartered its own in-house technology and also opened a second store right here in Northern Ireland. It’s faced the hardship of the Covid-19 pandemic and also fought the rhetoric of the high-street fading, all whilst developing its business to what it is today. Celebrating its 50th year, Northern Ireland Travel News’ Jonathan Adair travelled to Glasgow
to celebrate this achievement,
saying: “Thank you to Barrhead Travel for the invitation to be part of their wonderful 50th Anniversary Celebrations. A super night and a great opportunity to catch up with the team and their suppliers.” Barrhead Travel Group’s President, Jacqueline Dobson reiterated its appreciation of the support it has got over the years: “One thing that’s helped along the way is our partnerships. We couldn’t do it without your support and tonight, we want to say a huge thank you to every partner that’s supported our journey”
The night heard encouraging words from Seabourn Vice President UK & EMEA, Lynn Narraway and Managing Director of Barrhead
Travel Group, Nicki Tempest-
Mitchell, before enjoying an evening of entertainment.
