Team…Work It Out If you’re lucky enough to find em- ployees who understand the true meaning of the word “team,” you won’t have to worry about how well they’ll care for your customers. Here are some ideas managers should keep in mind to more ef- fectively manage: • You cannot expect 100 percent of your staff to become ideal employees.


• The secret to succeeding in building teams is not to dis- miss the employees who don’t fit your ideal model, but to mold them.


• Developing your staff is your responsibility, and leadership means motivating people to reach their highest potential.


• Nobody rises to low expec- tations. • There is a winner in everyone. • Many successful people were bad employees at one time. At some point in their careers, someone had known what to do to motivate them. Be one of those “someones.”


• Keeping up morale is the boss’s job.
