CLIMATE


The climate in Portugal varies from region to region. Summers are hot and dry, with coastal regions enjoying sea breezes. During the autumn there are often sunny days with mild temperatures. Winters are mild in the Algarve, with cooler temperatures in Porto and the North and Centro de Portugal, especially in the areas closest to Spain. Azores and Madeira both experience mild temperatures throughout the year.
