We all need to show care and support A NOTE FROM THE EDITOR

The latest round of quarantine announcements was not unexpected but was yet another blow for the trade as it continues to contend with refunds and rebookings while generating precious little income to help the bottom line. With the government still showing little appetite to create bespoke

support for the travel or aviation sectors, the outlook is increasingly bleak for many. There are of course positives amid the gloom, and we report this week on easyJet Holidays’ long-awaited trade launch (page 4) and Advantage’s homeworking expansion (page 6), among others. But there remains no doubt that the fallout from this pandemic will hit the lives and livelihoods of many more in the industry in the coming

months, which is why Travel Weekly has teamed up with Abta LifeLine to help boost its resources to support those who need it most (page 8). None of you will have escaped the impact of Covid-19 but, if you feel able, please give what you can to the TravelCares appeal to help friends and colleagues who face uncertain futures. This week also marks our return to print after nearly five months. Your magazine may initially be lighter than you are used to, but we hope that our commitment to supporting, connecting and inspiring you every week will be a welcome boost as you navigate the difficult times ahead.
