Oceania adds solar eclipse sailings on four cruise ships
Ella Sagar
Oceania Cruises has added four solar eclipse sailings to its line-up for 2026, taking its total to five. During the eclipse on August 12, 2026 – the first in
mainland Europe since 1999 – each of the cruises will be positioned in a “prime location” in its path to allow for the best possible viewpoint. The line will put on deck parties and offer solar-
themed food such as half-moon prawn empanadas, eclipse-inspired passion fruit macarons and star- shaped sandwiches. There will also be a programme of speakers, including astronomers and Nasa ambassadors. Oceania Marina will sail a 14-day cruise from
July 30, 2026, from Copenhagen to Reykjavik, costing from £4,809 for an inside stateroom. The ship will be positioned for the eclipse near Grundarfjörður, Iceland. Oceania Insignia will operate a 12-day cruise
