TruTravels unveils three new categories for expanded range

Phil Davies

G Adventures-owned youth travel and social adventure specialist TruTravels is expanding its tours while making it easier for agents to connect travellers to the right trip. Trips are now grouped in four

categories following the addition of three styles: FitVentures, SailVentures and Flashpacker. They all aim to appeal to post-pandemic millennial and Gen Z travellers. The styles are in addition

to TruTravels’ existing Classic category of tours in destinations including Vietnam, Thailand, Bali, Mexico, Sri Lanka and Colombia. The pandemic has given

the small-group operator the opportunity to rethink its product positioning and to strive to be more agent-friendly as the trade becomes more important for consumers’ peace of mind, according to TruTravels co-founder Mark Pope. FitVentures breaks cater for

travellers seeking fitness-focused and wellbeing experiences, such

Bali

as beach-based bootcamps, with the first departures to Bali and Thailand from October. SailVentures trips combine

exploration and action with yacht flotilla parties in Greece and Croatia this summer. Flashpacker holidays are

described as a natural progression from backpacker adventures and are aimed at travellers looking to “keep it real” but with a splash of style and private accommodation. Pope said: “We know travellers are going to crave social adventures

after months of separation from friends and family, but at the same time we are witnessing a shift away from sharing dorm-rooms to a desire for personal space, and some travellers are seeking closer-to- home options this summer.” The new nine-day Thailand

Energise, a FitVenture to celebrate the ancient art of Muay Thai, includes martial art classes, bike rides, massage, paddleboarding and hikes. It costs from £895, not including flights. trutravels.com/agents
