Promoting its new controlled environment moulding area, Simon Plastics, now operates 23 moulding machines in a high specification ‘white room’ which is equipped with filtered, temperature controlled pressurised air supply, air locked doors and full gowning and cleaning procedures. There is also another area in


which three machines operate in an environment that uses HEPA filtered air supply for more demanding applications. Machine sizes range from five


tonne micro moulding up to 300 tonne 750g shot weight machines. A large proportion of the moulding


and assembly work is for medical and biopharma customers, but other markets, such as electronics, fibre

configured so that only information pertinent to a user’s role is shown at start-up. For example, the production manager can see what jobs are running late, or what operations have taken longer than the estimated time. The purchasing team can see what

lightweight mouldings are for the automotive and aerospace industries. The business has been
