Follow in the footsteps of fellow Housing Associations & Local Authorities Kensa Contracting & Thurrock Council are set to reduce emissions & fuel bills
Three Thurrock Council high-rise tower blocks will get three times more energy-efficient heating by switching to low-carbon ground source heat pumps.
The scheme, which secured finance from the Social Housing Decarbonisation Fund, will reduce carbon emissions by 70% and fuel bills by over 50% for some residents.
Over the life cycle of this installation, the total emissions saving of the heat pumps is projected to be 7,080 tons of CO2
.
Heating social housing with networked ground source heat pumps can:
Alleviate fuel poverty Increase social value Reduce carbon emissions Lower running & lifecycle costs
Provide an opportunity for commercial return and mass decarbonisation.
