Brana remains mum on further details. “Passengers will see improvements that go much beyond the cabin dimensions” he says, adding, “So will pilots when they jump into the 6X, and the same for maintenance people.”
Indeed, flight crews familiar with X-series Falcons will enjoy the new Digital Flight Control System (DFCS) generation, which
now incorporates electrically-driven, fly-by-wire flaps and a new control surface called a “flaperon”, “opening more capabilities regarding control of the aircraft, among its improvements,” Brana says. Maintainers will appreciate the easier, quicker access to devices such as batteries for example, or other aircraft systems. “The Falcon 6X is an evolutionary process – we want people to feel comfortable with this aircraft immediately,” Brana summarizes.
The 6X features the same core DNA of previous Falcons in terms of agility and efficiency, while representing a breakthrough in cabin space and comfort. With the widebody scale the 6X brings to business aviation, Falcon customers will likely find it an evolution with room to roam.
