An offshore or marine worker’s journey is not just a taxi ride from the final destination airport but often ends on an oil rig or vessel that could be in the Sahara Desert, the Gulf of Mexico or the Arctic Ocean. Often this content – such as helicopters, camp accommodation or private home rental – is not typically available in the GDS. For that last mile (or last several miles), the TMC really adds value.
