Where the NVIS Community Comes Together


Many sectors of the industry are so passionate about their corners of the industry that they proactively create working groups to enhance operations for all involved. The tour industry has Tour Operators Program of Safety (TOPS), law enforcement has the Airborne Law Enforcement Association (ALEA), and the helicopter operators working in the Gulf of 


Well, the civil night vision imaging system (NVIS) sector is          regulators, decision-makers, and subject matter experts, along with product manufacturers and end users, gather at NightCon to discuss the latest developments impacting their industry and community. Produced by Night Flight Concepts, Aviation Specialties Unlimited, Vertical magazine, and those of us here at Rotorcraft Pro, the event is a venue in which industry professionals can obtain information, education, and guidance on civil NVIS implementation, operations, and maintenance issues. This year’s conference in Dallas (August 27-28) contains an open session, panel forum, vendor displays, and educational presentations.


Rotorcraft professionals operating at night in challenging environments have long used NVIS to enhance the safety  operators than ever are integrating NVIS into their operational        it’s vital that experts gather to share their knowledge and experience, as well as hear the concerns and opinions of all involved.


Important to NightCon’s success are the educational courses being held on the event’s second day. Without exception,  ground training available. Simply put, NightCon instructors 
