FROM THE DESK OF THE EDITOR

NEW ADDITIONS TO ROTORCRAFT PRO I often like to say that we here at

Rotorcraft Pro eat, sleep and drink helicop- ters. Our ultimate goal is to inform, educate and entertain our audience with content that is targeted to the business end of the industry and the working pros in the helicopter world. Having only been here for six months, I

still consider myself new to the position as Editor In Chief. Although we are full of ideas on how to grow and improve our magazine, it still takes real time and effort to implement them. Even though those resources never seem to be in full supply, we still strive to make major improvements to our magazine and reader experience. Take for example:

WELCOME TO THE TEAM Beginning next month, we will add two

new regular columns. The first will be written by Randy Mains. His monthly column will be called “My Two Cents Worth” and will focus on a smattering of helicopter related thoughts and experiences from this 44 year veteran of the industry. Randy is an Author of several books, a public speaker, and CRM/AMRM Consultant who continues to work in the heli- copter industry after a long career of aviation adventure. He currently works as a Bell 412EP flight simulator instructor/examiner for Abu Dhabi Aviation. The second new column will be called

“Profile of a Rotorcraft Pro.” This human interest column will be written by Contributing Editors Steve Goldsworthy and Mike Archer, and will focus on intriguing individuals in our industry who have made significant contributions during their careers in the helicopter industry.

ANDROID OS APP EDITION In March of 2012, Rotorcraft Pro Media

Network showed itself to be a forerunner in the helicopter industry media world by expanding our line of products with the intro- duction of our new Rotorcraft Pro App via the Apple App Store, Newsstand, and iTunes. In July 2012, we will again expand our

Rotorcraft Pro App offering to phones and tablets using the Android Operating System through the Google App Store. This free app offers readers the convenience of download- ing and viewing the digital version of Rotorcraft Pro magazine on mobile devices using the iOS and Android Operating Systems. The digital magazine editions inside the app come to life with interactive features such as hot links, embedded videos, and photo overlays.

INSIDE THIS ISSUE This issue is the 2012 Rotorcraft Pro

Buyer’s Guide. With over 3,400 listings in 37 categories represented, the 2012 Buyer’s Guide is a true resource which should be kept close by all year long. When you find and contact a company in the 2012 Buyer’s Guide, please let them know you saw them in Rotorcraft Pro!
