News Signature unveils £7.5m refurbishment programme
Luxury care home provider Signature Senior Lifestyle has embarked on a £7.5m refurbishment programme across several of its homes. The largest project in the programme is
now underway at Signature at Weybridge in Surrey, where works are expected to complete in Summer 2026. This project will see upgrades to communal facilities in the home, new spaces including a shop, family room, and rehabilitation suite, as well as an extension of its dementia wing. The second largest refurbishment in
the programme is part-way completed at Signature at Banstead, also in Surrey, welcoming residents into an already transformed home. Residents and visitors can now enjoy an enhanced dementia community, with new apartments, freshly landscaped gardens, and refurbished communal spaces due to open later this year. Other homes are benefiting from
gym tailored to residents, recently converted from a garden room. Extensive works at Signature at Bentley House in Hertfordshire, and Signature at Coombe Hill Manor in Kingston upon Thames, are also expected to complete later this year. Steve Gardner, interim CEO of Signature

NCF responds to Casey Commission cross-party talks
The National Care Forum has responded to the announcement that Baroness Casey has hosted cross-party talks to discuss the work of the Independent Commission on Adult Social Care and the need for reform of the sector. NCF CEO Vic Rayner said: “These
talks are a positive step forward and we also welcome the confirmation that a programme of engagement is on its way so people drawing on care and support can put in their own words how this vital public service enables them to live the lives they want to live. “It has been positive that over the summer our not-for-profit members have
begun to engage with the Commission, and we have been struck by the desire of the team to listen and explore the landscape through stories and discussion. They have heard from our members, and the people they support, about the current pressures the social care and support sector is under and also the innovative approaches many are exploring around new models of care and technology. Members were pleased to host meetings on location, as well as join virtual discussions with CEOs and senior leaders. We remain committed to engaging in the work of the Commission and continuing to create opportunities for members’ voices to be heard. “It is vital that cross party talks happen
so that the future direction of this vital public service is underpinned by a set of commitments that transcend party politics. Social care is central to each and every community up and down the country, and we need to see a sustainable future that everyone can rely on. Social care matters to us all.”
Senior Lifestyle, said: “This refurbishment programme represents a major investment in the future of our homes and, most importantly, in the comfort, safety, and happiness of our residents. Every detail, from upgraded care facilities to enhanced, beautifully designed communal areas, reflects our commitment to delivering exceptional care in luxurious, welcoming settings. “We look forward to seeing the works
completed and the positive impact they will have on residents for years to come – building for the future while maintaining the warm, vibrant communities that make our homes so special.”
