We catch up with Laurence Painell, Vice President of Marketing at IDBS, whose R&D
cloud-based platform has just won product of the Year at the National Technology Awards.
IDBS, a leading R&D and scientific software solutions provider, has been recognised by the National Technology Awards for its innovative cloud solution.
The firm’s flagship platform, The E-WorkBook Cloud, has been awarded
Cloud Product of the Year at the prestigious awards, beating companies such as UKFast and Workday for the coveted prize.
Launched at the beginning of this year, IDBS E-WorkBook Cloud is an enterprise cloud-based platform designed specifically to meet the demands of research and development data management and analysis in science driven industries globally.
An independent panel of judges chose IDBS E-WorkBook Cloud as the Product of the Year at the awards ceremony, which was organised by FStech magazine and took place at the Millennium Hotel London Mayfair in May.
When asked why he thought the platform had beaten off stiff competition from seven other cloud products, Laurence Painell, Vice President of Marketing at IDBS said: “I believe it is our bold mission to help the world’s leading R&D organisations to solve some of the world’s biggest challenges. The vast majority of our customers come from three different industry groups geared towards providing better energy, food and healthcare.
“This and our passion for technology and its capacity to help modernise organisations all played a part.”

So what does the future hold for IDBS? “We will continue to expand the capabilities of the platform including specific solutions for Bio-processing, bio-analysis, analytical sciences and formulations as well as adding new modules and features over time.
