help them ensure effective floorcare following the launch of a series of videos by Truvox International.

The comprehensive video library covers cleaning and polishing hard floors with rotaries, injection- extraction carpet cleaning, vacuuming and scrubber dryers.

In around five minutes, new machine owners – or recruits to the team – can get up to speed on setting up each machine and getting the best cleaning performance.

Truvox has launches a product support video series with tips covering machine set-up, maintenance and aftercare.

A Modern Solution for a

Traditional Brewery The Feldschlösschen brewery headquarters in Rheinfelden is an extensive site with multiple buildings and known for its imposing architecture, with many of the buildings dating back to the late nineteenth century.

Safeguarding such a complex site from fire is a key challenge, as a major incident would have far-reaching consequences for personnel and a significant impact on production. The fire safety system has developed over many years and consists of a mix of both newer and older systems that are now undergoing modernisation. Over 2,000 Siemens fire detectors and 17 central fire alarm systems ensure high-level protection across the site.

To further mitigate the spread of fire, the brewery has its own dedicated fire crew, with around 20 employees and three vehicles, tasked with bringing any potential incidents under control. Andreas Sulser, Chief of the fire crew at Feldschlösschen explained: “From the outset we wanted step-by-step modernisation and optimisation of the detection systems. Our goal was to end up with a simpler structure with fewer

A separate video takes the user through recommended maintenance routines and aftercare, and simple troubleshooting steps. This should lead to less downtime of a machine and avoid service call out costs for easy to solve problems.

The videos are a useful addition to user manuals, especially for the many people who prefer visual learning as an alternative or addition to written instructions.

“We’ve been showcasing best practice with video on our website for some time, as well as on-site demonstrations for clients,” said Natalie Dowse, Marketing & Product Manager at Truvox International.

Natalie added: “These videos, unlike an instruction manual, are always to hand as they can be viewed on a mobile phone or tablet. We’ve set up a dedicated link where all the videos can be accessed, including new ones we’ll share in the future.”

central systems that are more closely networked.” With these clear aims in mind, he worked in close co- operation with Siemens to draw up a complete site plan, identify where the detectors and central systems were installed and when they need to be replaced. They also determined which central systems would be linked and what information would be distributed to other central systems.

Andreas learned about the Sinteso networked fire protection system at a safety trade fair and subsequently viewed the fire laboratory at the Siemens Visitor Centre in Zug.

“As we replace our older Siemens AlgoRex detectors, we take the opportunity to upgrade to Sinteso technology. This lays the groundwork for the future,” explained Andreas.

An installation standard was defined for the service technicians on site to ensure a smooth transition and efficient installation.

“When a fire detection system was damaged by a lightning strike late on a Friday afternoon, replacement parts had to be delivered quickly. Following a visit by a service technician, by 9.00 p.m. the system was fully operational. This reliability, even in difficult situations, is something I really value,” Andreas concluded.

A future consideration is the possibility of integrating Sinteso Mobile, which allows the fire safety system to be accessed remotely via smartphone or tablet.
