EDITOR’S VOICE Hello and welcome to the July issue of TCF.
It is with an air of optimism that I sit down and write month’s editor’s note. We finally seem to be getting back to some semblance of normality following the extended lockdown period, which began at the end of March.
Non-essential shops have already opened with hairdressers, pubs and restaurants due to follow in the coming days. Although a cure or solution may be a long way off, at least businesses can start to function again (and we can step away from the clippers and get our corona cuts sorted!).
As hospitality premises lay empty, many business owners took the opportunity to freshen up and refurbish their interiors. In this issue we take a look at some recent projects including an £18m leisure park development where F. Ball products were used to install floorcoverings throughout the bar, kitchen and bathroom areas. Then Bostik talks us through how their new Bostik Roll version tackled a challenging staircase installation while meeting health and safety codes at a food processing factory.
Hygiene standards will surely be under more scrutiny in the wake of the pandemic. With this in mind, Sika has provided us with a guide to specifying flooring solutions for food and drink manufacturing facilities.
And while we’re excited for pubs and leisure parks to start opening again, we mustn’t forget our pets. Don’t miss our Spotlight feature where we hear from Altro on specifying animal-friendly flooring solutions for commercial settings.
As well as all of this, we have advice from Amtico on combining LVT with entrance matting, BAL discuss their sustainable solutions and much more.
