IMPROVED HAUL TRUCK EFFICIENCY


Philippi-Hagenbuch’s new load ejector system is engineered to eliminate material carryback, effectively increasing load capacity and improving efficiency. It allows operations to haul the full rated capacity with each load and reduce downtime associated with removing carryback from the truck. Sticky materials tend to build up in truck bodies. The load ejector system has an overlapping jointed plate lattice design that rests flat against the front slope and floor inside of the truck body. When the body is raised, the load ejector separates from the truck bed by gravity, removing material as it hangs vertically away from the body. This leaves an empty truck with full capacity for the next load.


Test mine enabled by 5G wirless network


Edzcom and Callio Pyhäjärvi have joined forces to boost the automation and digitalisation of the entire mining industry in Finland and internationally through a state-of-the-art 5G private wireless network. Pyhäjärvi Callio’s project, known


as the “FutureMINE – the future digital test mine project”, is located in Pyhäsalmi, which is one of the deepest known mines in Europe, reaching 1,445m underground and seeks to unlock new possibilities for the mining industry. The private 5G wireless network, includes Nokia Modular Private Wireless (MPW), Compact Mobility Unit (CMU) and Radio Access Network (RAN) covering a distance of 11.5km total in length and eight levels underground. The purpose- built solution has been designed to support the most demanding


applications such as predictive maintenance, location services, 3D modelling, advanced analytics, mining automation among other key use cases. The project’s key focus areas include testing and verifying various mining applications, developing future mining services which require full coverage, continuous improvement, innovation, and enabling ecosystems for future digitalisation and development of sustainable solutions.


Next-generation mining collaboration


ABB is collaborating with Norge Mining to conduct a FEED (Front-End Engineering and Design) study for a future Norwegian upstream mine production that has the potential to supply minerals used in electric vehicles and solar panels needed for the clean energy revolution, and fertiliser demand, for at least 50 years. The deposit contains large resources of phosphate, titanium, vanadium and subsequently phosphorus – four key


EU-designated critical raw minerals that are essential for the clean energy transition and global food security. “Norge Mining’s transformative


partnership with ABB marks a new era for more sustainable, resource- efficient mining,” said Michael Wurmser, founder at Norge Mining. “Together, we’re aiming to power progress through next-generation mining.”


NEW AIR COMPRESSORS


Dynaset has launched a new compressor product family called Blue Air. The family includes redesigned HKR hydraulic screw compressors and HK hydraulic piston compressors. The purpose of the hydraulic screw compressor is to convert the hydraulic power of a mobile machine, vehicle or vessel into compressed air by using its hydraulic system as a power source to produce airflow. The improvements of the new


HKR hydraulic screw compressor Blue Air models make them even more versatile. The lineup is extended with three new models, HKR2000, HKR4000, and HKR6500, producing maximum output pressure of 13 bars. This enables them to be used in tasks requiring higher pressure and airflow, such as more effective and demanding tyre maintenance and air-flushing tasks.
