Virtual Tours
On June 7, 2021, Rebecca Craig, for- mer ASCA Board president and chief executive officer of Harmony Surgery Center in Fort Collins, Colorado, pro- vided a virtual tour to Senator Michael Bennet’s lead health staffer. During the tour, Craig educated the senator’s staff about her facility, the services it provides and the impact of ASCs on the Colorado healthcare system. She highlighted the issues her facility faces and the reasons the ASC Qual- ity and Access Act needs to be adopted. Bennet is a former cosponsor of the act. As an ASC leader, it is crucial to edu- cate our legislators on the high-quality, cost-effective care we are providing in the ASC environment,” Craig said.
ASCA’s Facility Tour program continues to be the most impactful and direct way to connect lawmakers with member facilities.”

“Now, more than ever, we need to get our message out, and ASCA team mem- bers make it easy and efficient. Adam and Maia [Kunkel, ASCA Government Affairs coordinator] coordinated and helped to prepare an excellent presenta- tion to demonstrate all the benefits ASCs offer—including saving the Medicare program and beneficiaries a tremen- dous amount of money. It is worth your time and efforts to take advantage of this valuable ASCA resource.”
On June 4, 2021, Wauwatosa Sur- gery Center in Milwaukee, Wiscon- sin, hosted a virtual facility tour for the lead healthcare staffer of its new mem- ber of Congress Representative Scott Fitzgerald (R-WI). During their tour, the ASC staff familiarized the con- gressman’s staff with their facility, the services they provide and the impact of the ASC community on Wisconsin’s healthcare system.
