People Suffering Panic or Anxiety Attacks
Talkable - A Talk Line for
Chelsea Birkett, 28, from Aberdeen, started Talkable after realising there were no talk line services dedicated to anxiety and panic attacks. Talkable is a charity that offers a talk line for people who are feeling anxious or suffering from a panic attack and want someone to talk to. Calls are not scripted, which allows callers to have a natural conversation with a real person when they need it most. Founder of Talkable stated – “We don’t offer treatment, we are just offering a sympathetic ear if you’re feeling anxious for whatever reason, whether you’re walking through a dark area at night, or you’re having a full-blown panic attack and you need someone to talk to to get through it. We’ll answer the phone and talk to you as if you are a

friend. It won’t be a case of phoning the number and getting through to an automated message.” Anyone who wants to use the service can either phone Talkable or message Talkable’s social media accounts to request a call back. It’s completely confidential and users don't have to provide any personal information.
