They are in the middle of an epic Ring Cycle by Wagner and that attracts people back every year and that is the one show which will be showing in the theatre, restrictions permitting. This year it is Die Walküre which kicks off the festival on June 1.

The three other shows, Mozart’s Così fan tutte, Monteverdi’s The Return of Ulysses, and Janacek’s The Cunning Little Vixen will be shown in the Big Top. These shows run consecutively on various dates from June 23 until August 3 when the festival closes. Alongside the performances, the festival offers a choice of delicious dining options for the audiences too for an idyllic cultural experience. All shows have a 90-minute interval to allow

for this, where food can be enjoyed either in the festival restaurant or picnics in the beautiful grounds or the cover of a marquee, which can either be pre-purchased or brought along from home.

Polly is also appealing for help from local opera supporters. "We are looking to hire self-contained accommodation for our wonderful performers, as local to us as possible. If you would love to know more about behind the scenes at the opera, and are interested in meeting our artists, this is a great way to get involved with the festival."

Tickets for the festival at Longborough, Moreton-in-the-Marsh, go on general release on March 1. For full details and booking visit www.lfo.org.uk
