THE BIGGEST AESTHETICS TRENDS & TREATMENTS PREDICTED FOR 2021

Dr Claire Oliver (GDC) reviews the global trends and predicts what we can expect to see in clinic

While 2020 didn’t go as anyone planned, the beauty industry still continued to boom during lockdown. As the world gets used to a ‘new normal’, there are exciting times ahead when it comes to new aesthetic trends, treatments and procedures.

TOP TRENDS & TREATMENTS FOR 2021

NATURAL, NON-INVASIVE SKIN LIFTING & TIGHTENING The trend to seek less invasive, preventative rejuvenation treatments is set to continue growing in 2021. Ultherapy® is rapidly gaining in popularity and is expected to be in big demand. Ultherapy® represents the gold standard when it comes to collagen building. It uses micro focused ultrasound to stimulate collagen deep in the skin, causing a skin- tightening effect to prevent and treat sagging, loose skin, creating a ‘collagen bank’ to support better skin for the years ahead. Many clients are turning to Ultherapy® as a preventative treatment in their 20’s, 30’s and 40’s to stave off the need for invasive intervention as they get into later life.

BODY SCULPTING In 2021, we anticipate the focus will be on fat reduction and refining muscles. Body sculpting is a procedure that’s been gaining traction and is predicted to see its biggest demand yet, in 2021. The world’s most popular treatment is CoolSculpting, a non-invasive procedure which involves targeted freezing of stubborn fat deposits. CoolSculpting can be used on various parts of the body including the abdomen, ‘muffin top’ area, arms, saddlebags, back and bra fat and is even effective for eliminating a double chin.

TV Presenter Kirsty Gallagher says “Investing in Ultherapy® is an investment for the future of my skin.”

COMBINATION TREATMENTS Why have one treatment when you can have two? With more treatments available to choose from and a growing demand amongst clients, the combination treatment is set to grow. The benefits of combining two or more different treatments means that you get results faster and you can achieve a look only possible through an invasive procedure.

The Air Aesthetics Beverley Hills Signature Facial is a case in point where clients can enjoy the benefit of four world- beating treatments in one – the celebrity’s favourite clinical

With new technologies like EMSculpt that work to burn fat as well as exercise key core muscles groups, clients can achieve a contoured body in a way that can’t be achieved with a trainer in the gym.

“A combination approach to body sculpting continues to be in great demand with both men and women”
