Young Forwarder Network goes from strength to strength
While the lockdown and tier restrictions have been highly frustrating, the emergence of Zoom events has seen growing Young Forwarder Network participation from all corners of the country
Since its conversion to digital at the end of May, the Young Forwarder Network (YFN) has proven very popular with participants across the country. In 2020, the YFN held 15 events – scheduled every other Wednesday for an hour – with attendee numbers averaging just over 50 per event.
Aimed at supporting individuals that have 8
recently joined the logistics sector or those that want to build up their personal network and boost their knowledge, the events, and their variety, are attracting participants from all corners of the UK.
Carl Hobbis, training development manager added: “We have done all sorts since we changed to a digital format; bake-offs, port
tours, quizzes, bite-size training, not to mention all the fabulous speakers who have supported the initiative. Zoom has broken down the regions and allowed participation by individuals from all corners of the UK. “We all long for the day we can also have some face-to-face events, but a digital version – like with our training – is no doubt here to stay. The beauty of this format is that anyone can join the events no matter where they are located. “The development of BIFA’s YFN continues to
be of great importance and the digital format is exceeding my expectations. We have some interesting speakers lined up for Q1 and have some more exciting things on the horizon as well.
“Finally, I urge Members to encourage individuals to come along; it is great for their personal development and they bring the new knowledge back to the business.” Contact
