BIFA Awards 2020 deadline approaches

Early October is the deadline for receipt of submissions in all 11 categories of the BIFA Freight Service Awards 2020 and the judges are looking forward to reviewing the entries later this month. Finalists in each category will be announced

ahead of the final judging. Of course, COVID-19 continues to disrupt

normal life and plans are now being drawn up for an alternative to the BIFA Annual Luncheon and Awards Ceremony. Details will be shared with you in the coming

weeks. In the meantime, BIFA would like to thank

the loyal sponsors who continue to support the BIFA Awards in these challenging times.

Dangerous goods training returns

BIFA has partnered with Cargo Training International (CTI) for the delivery of Dangerous Goods training courses for many years. CTI trainers are regularly assessed by the CAA for Dangerous Goods by Air and all courses meet the relevant modal regulatory requirements. You will be aware that in response to the

COVID-19 pandemic, the CAA granted extensions to certificates; this extension is due to expire this month. Revalidation training for dangerous goods by air should be completed by 22 November 2020 in order to remain compliant. CTI is pleased to announce the return of

classroom training courses for all modes. Training courses will take place in venues with

COVID-secure protocols with class sizes limited to meet social-distancing requirements. See https://bifa.org/training/dangerous-goods for dates and venues.
