MESSAGE FROM THE CEO Calling All Medical Leaders

ASCA will host its first Medical Directors Leadership Seminar May 16–17, 2015, at the Ritz-Carlton Orlando, Grande Lakes in Orlando, Florida. This new semi- nar targets the special interests and needs of medical directors and other physician leaders in the ASC setting. The discussions will focus on emerging practice and business management techniques and key decision-making strategies. Meeting attendees will have the opportunity to step away from their demanding

daily routines and take a high-level view of operations at their ASC from a physician’s perspective. They also will have extensive networking opportunities to connect with other ASC medical directors and physicians from across the country who are facing the same changes, challenges and opportunities in their ASCs. Participants will be able to help guide the small-group discussions that will

take place and focus the conversation on the topics that concern them the most. Topics already on the agenda include evaluating and implementing new procedures, designing and implementing an effective strategic plan, successes and challenges in ambulatory anesthesia, risk management, patient selection, working with disruptive physicians and more. The seminar will provide continuing medical education (CME) credits. ASCA

2015, ASCA’s annual meeting, May 13–16, at the Orlando World Center Marriott Resort & Convention Center in Orlando, Florida, will not offer CME credits. If you are an ASC medical director or a physician in another leadership role

at your ASC, I encourage you to participate in this meeting. If you have concerns about how to protect and direct your ASC in today’s constantly evolving health care marketplace and into the future, this is a meeting you should not miss. The venue, the Ritz-Carlton Orlando, Grande Lakes resort, is one of Orlando’s
