Attend this Month’s Webinars ASCA will offer two webinars this month: “In Print, On Air and Online: The Challenges and Opportunities of Media Relations” on February 9, and “The Updated Infection Control Sur- veyor Worksheet for ASCs—What You Need to Know” on February 23. Both will take place at 1:00 pm ET. Charlie Leonard, ASCA’s public

affairs and public relations consultant, and Kay Tucker, director of communi- cations at ASCA, will present the first webinar. They will discuss practical


tips for reaching out and responding to local media, whether it is to share good news or confront adverse cir- cumstances, and will explain the most effective ways to work with reporters and how to discuss headline news with patients.

Phenelle Segal, RN, president of Infection Control Consulting Services in Delray Beach, Florida, will present the second webinar. She will address the significant changes to the infection control surveyor worksheet that the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) released in June last year. She will analyze the ways that the changes might affect your ASC and provide the latest information on key areas that surveyors are citing most frequently.
