LIVE 24-SEVEN

You're quoted as saying that you could never have the career you have today if you were still drinking, yet out of it came something hugely positive, the career that you always wanted – that must be hard to juggle emotionally? Not really. Getting sober is one of the hardest things I've ever had to do, it taught me how to rewire my life and I have a set of tools that I use to help me navigate, so nothing bothers me that much these days. I'm very well supported in my life, more than when I was drinking.

You travelled the world interviewing some of the biggest music artists of our generation from Justin Bieber to 50 Cent, there has to be material from that period of your life that could be made into its own tour? You'll have to wait for the book.

Whilst your shows definitely raise the laughter, what kind of feedback do you get from attendees? It must be like therapy for some, having someone actually talk about the stuff that rarely gets mentioned?

Yeah, I get loads of amazing messages afterwards. Connecting with audiences is one of the highlights of the job. What an amazing privilege I have doing this job!

Hecklers or prudes, those that don't approve with your outspoken ways, how do you handle people like that? My biggest issue is with chatterers. Sometimes, especially during Edinburgh Fringe, people will blatantly have a chat about what I’m talking about on the front row as I'm doing the show. I guess it means they're engaged, but flipping heck, there’s a time and a place.

Finally, are you still on Tinder? They've barred me, but I can't tell you why. Come see the show…

Eleanor Conway: You Might Recognise Me From Tinder is on at Birmingham’s Old Joint Stock Theatre on 17th April and dates in London too.
