Welcome to the latest issue of Welcome

From Easter events to scarecrow trails and walking festivals, you will find it all in this month’s issue. After a winter of sheltering from the rain it will be lovely to be back outside and enjoy the many events that take place in and around our local towns. Get your diaries out and start saving some dates.

Don’t forget that if you are organising an event for a local club or group, or hold regular meetings, do send your dates in for inclusion in our what’s on guide, we need to receive them by the 4th of the month.

Spring is often associated with spring cleaning so if you have been rooting around your cupboards and lofts and have discovered old toys and games read Wessex Auction Rooms article on page 14 and discover why toys are so popular in the sale room.

The signs of spring are definitely around us, flowers, blossom, buds and the greening of trees. It does make you want to get out and about in the garden and the end of April sees National Gardening Week. For 2020 the RHS theme is ‘Sowing the Seeds of Friendship’. Gardening can be a very sociable activity from garden visits to clubs and societies or even joining one of the ‘Clean Up Gangs’ that work so hard across our towns helping to keep them looking beautiful. Check out our ‘What’s On Guide’ for gardening events and open gardens under the National Garden Scheme.
