Women’s History: It’s Time to Call Out the Real Perpetrators of Discrimination


European American women have to own their culpability when it comes to sex discrimination. European American women even


discriminate against each other, which was proven in the 2016 presidential election. They voted overwhelmingly for Trump, a self-described abuser of women. He admitted that he grabs women by their private parts but because they knew he would reinforce the supremacist mantra that European American women evidently teach at home, they decided to overlook his blatant disrespect of women. These are the same women who

African American History Month. In celebration, the Hampton Roads Messenger exhibited 24 photographs of African American historical figures in Virginia Beach and in Hampton. In March, we are celebrating Women’s History Month. Our African American History Month Photography exhibits included photos of important women such as Mary McLeod Bethune, who advised Franklin D. Roosevelt and founded the National Council for Negro Women in 1935. She also started a school for African American students, which later developed into Bethune-Cookman College. If history has taught us


anything, it should have taught us that African American women and European American women have nothing in common when it comes to discrimination. European American women are discriminated
