Both thermal and non thermal break doors have polyurethane foam insulation inside the door slab and the frame. The main difference is that thermal break doors are split with ABS material in between the frame and the door slab. A thermal break reduces the transfer of heat from a greater source to a lesser, thus preventing the cold from


transferring during the winter months. Thermal break doors are more energy efficient and are ideal for homes with higher than normal humidity.
