Peter Lole 1937-2019 Peter Lole was well known to many BIFA Members as the founder of the insurance firm that bears his name. His knowledge of forwarding


insurance was immense and he was a great contributor to the BIFA Legal and Insurance Policy Group, which is the guardian of the BIFA Standard Trading Conditions. His funeral in January was


attended by BIFA Members and peers from the insurance industry. A celebration of his life, it was particularly interesting to hear from family members of his passion for all things nautical, which started with National Service with the Royal Navy. Our condolences to his


Inspiring the youth of Northern Ireland


BIFA Regional Consultant Carson McMullan has been busy recently with the launch of the Young Forwarder Network in Northern Ireland and attending the West Belfast Area Learning Community Careers Convention. Late January saw the launch of


the Northern Ireland Young Forwarder Network, the sixth region of the UK to be represented. Young Forwarder Networks are


managed by the local members and provide a forum for learning


and development within a social network. Local events include talks from business owners on a range of subjects and visits to ports and distribution facilities. At the West Belfast Area
