Welcome

February the month of love. From Valentine’s traditions from around the world to how to love your carpets, we have it covered this month. Valentine’s Day can be lonely but as you will see in the feature not all countries limit the day just to couples but also use it as a day to celebrate friendships, with chocolates, homemade gifts and even poetry. So if you are feeling inspired why not settle down with a pen and paper and try your hand at writing a poem.

You should also be loving your carpets as Wiltshire based Lemon Cleaning’s Harry Angel explains on page 18. Harry shares that apparently you cannot vacuum your carpet too often, and cleaning can also extend the life of your carpets.

I love our regular column from the Bradford on Avon Musuem focusing on items from their fascinating collections. This month the article is about two of the smaller pieces in the museum – English civil war cannonballs. Bradford on Avon played its part in the war as people were expected to pay for the upkeep of their local garrison and you can discover why the cannonballs were believed to have been in the area.

Don’t forget if you are a club, society or charity you can promote you forthcoming events in our popular ‘What’s On‘ guide. Please email them in by the 4th of the month preceding for inclusion.
