Lower-capacity model joins Bunning spreader range

orfolk-based muck spread- er specialist GT Bunning and Sons has unveiled
an addition to its Farmstar HBD spinning disc range. The new machine is aimed at small and medium-sized farms requiring a wider spread pat- tern than is possible with a verti- cal beater machine – particular- ly with materials such as chicken manure, gypsum and composts, as well as farmyard manure. Designed as a light yet robust spreader capable of sustained workloads in conjunction with smaller tractors, the 8m³ capaci- ty model can be equipped with ex- tension sides to increase heaped capacity to 10.2m³. Maximum pay- load is 8.5 tonnes. The new machine uses the
same body and fl oor construction as the established Bunning TVA
new model to achieve the same spread patterns as the larger ma- chines in the range. Design features include heat- treated boron beater fl ighting and reversible boron beater blades, plus heavy-duty beater roller drive chains. Individual dynam- ic balancing of the beaters takes place after their production at the factory.

mechanism. The same spinning discs are used as those fi tted to larger HBD models. This helps the
steel, the 1.0m-diameter spinning discs feature adjustable blade an- gles. The new model is fi tted as standard with a single axle rated to 13 tonnes, equipped with 406 x 120mm brakes with slack ad- justers. The launch follows almost two years of development. A pre-pro- duction machine was built in May 2018 and pre-production testing took place across the UK and Hol- land, spreading materials ranging from lime, straw bales and gyp- sum to compost, sewage sludge, chicken, pig and cow manure.
