ORDERING THE CORRECT CUT-OUT REEL SEAT…
Most casting reel seats are mounted about 10" from the rod butt and the blank tapers about .060" in that first 10". Subtract .060" from the butt size listed in our catalog and choose the I.D. size closest to the number you obtain. The seat can be reamed slightly to fit.
Example: Rod Butt Size .520": .520" - .060" = .460" Use the .453" reel seat and ream to fit.
