Tricycle congress Dec. 22


Dumaguete, tricycl e drivers will be called to a symposium-consultation to tackle pertinent ordinances that affect their means of livelihood.


Aquino said it is imperative for the trike sector to master provisions of certain tricycle operators/ drivers association-related ordinances in the City “for their own good”, so as to avoid inconveniences when applying for a Mayors Permit come January next year.


Expected to be tackled during the congress scheduled on Sunday, Dec. 22 are provisions of Ordinance No. 90 authored by Vice Mayor Alan Gel Cordova, following its dismissal by the Regional Trial Court on the question of constitutionality.

NOCCI asks PCOO to hold biz roadshow


The president of the Negros Oriental Chamber of Commerce & Industry has asked key officials of the Presidential Com m unic ations Operations Office to conduct a “roadshow” on the Ease of Doing Business law.


Francel Martinez, who is also a member of the Negros Oriental Investment Promotions Center, made the suggestion, as he raised concerns during PCOO’s 16th Roadshow held Wednesday here at Silliman University. Martinez said he was “happy and pleased with the roadshow because it gives people a lot of information”, referring to the key topics discussed, such as the Freedom of Information program of President Duterte, the government’s all-encompassing Rehabinasyon anti-illegal drugs campaign, and media security.
