Well said! It’s coming up to Christmas! You are the first person to mention it! I start talking about it after my birthday in April! So, what would you like to see kids being gifted rather than tech games etc? [laughing] I would like to see kids gifted and gifting a small patch of trees supporting rainforest projects. I’d like to see all kids this year asking for a patch of trees or a tree in the Cairngorms and to give a gift of ‘You are now supporting the Rain Forest’, so helping them to protect our trees, the very life blood of our planet. Trees are not just the lungs of the planet, we know they’re incredibly important carbon stores and release oxygen, but trees also (and this comes from the indigenous people of the Amazon that have always known this, so scientists in 30-40 years will be trying to figure it out, but the Indigenous have known for years) produce more rain than the Amazon dishes out into the ocean. Each and every single tree in the Amazon draws up a thousand litres of water; they call it the flying river because of all this mist over the trees that is then drawn out over the ocean. It is our beating heart, our circulatory system and the lungs of our planet; it used to be protected, it’s been undergoing degradation over the last 10 or so years and the burning in this past year, well, it’s our responsibility to protect it. So, for each child to gift and be gifted a tree here or there across the planet so we can all play a part in protecting this precious planet earth of ours. Also, if you have a little money left over – give a few tickets to the concert!
