respectable officers who would one day continue the Philippine military’s tradition of excellence. Now, I feel so uncomfortable that we may all be protected by people who may or may not be honorable and trustworthy. How can we really know that they are or not? Will we always need a retired general to open that can of worms and tell all?
So many civilian lives have been lost in the war on drugs, and whether they deserved it or not now becomes questionable because those they were up against may just have been as bad.
For sure, those ‘ninja cops’ are now facing the most trying time of their lives because they will have to answer for the wrongs they have done.
The Motion dated Sept. 24, 2019 is granted, and the Amended Petition attached thereto is admitted.
In the Amended Petition dated Sept. 24, 2019, Petitioner Hansooyeon Mission Inc., through its duly authorized representative, Cecelia M. Manansala, alleges that Petitioner Hansooyeon Mission Inc. had acquired Lot No. 2354, Pls-759 situated at Poblacion 2, Dauin, Negros Oriental, by virtue of an Extrajudicial Settlement of Estate and Sale; that the owner’s duplicate copy of Original Certificate of Title No. FV-32826, for Lot No. 2354 Pls-759, was lost while in her possession, in her capacity as the Petitioner’s secretary. Thus, she executed an Affidavit of Loss which was annotated as Entry No. 2019001216 in the file copy of Original Certificate of Title No. FV-32826, Office of the Registry of Deeds of Negros Oriental. Petitioner prays for the issuance of a new owner’s duplicate copy of said title, in lieu of the lost one. Set the hearing of the petition on Nov. 29, 2019, starting at 8:30 a.m. at the sala of this Court, located at the 3rd floor, Hall of Justice, Dumaguete City. us. Damn these corrupt cops for eroding our pride; for capping the statement that the Philippines is the most corrupt country in the world. If Filipinos are truly smart, as they claim and believe they are, they should force an overhaul of the country’s police force before its cancer has metastasized, choking the country, destroying it from within.
It may not even hurt to go as far as overhauling the Philippine Military Academy, as the country investigates why these bad officers have turned out the way they have, disgracing their uniform, and the traditions that so many before them upheld and protected with the ultimate sacrifice.
However, it is lamentable that some of their superiors would rather brush elbows with career destruction than to act fast and definitively against them. Could they be involved as well? Is that why they are trying their best to skirt around command responsibility? Let us all hope that the Senate will triumph in seeing through their smokescreen, and stop them from passing the buck. The PNP is our ultimate protector, but it would seem that we would need another protector to protect us from them.
All the things that are happening in our country now are embarrassing to us all. They reflect badly upon
Of all the instances of corruption that have been uncovered of late, this must be the most damaging because it is perpetrated by the police who we hold with the highest regard. If not for that retired General who told all, how could they have been suspected of being criminals themselves when they are the police?
Just my take on the way it is. God bless the Philippines.

expropriate for public use with the building of the new airport.
has allocated P300 million for the acquisition of land for the airport to include right of way, among others, Du said.
Initially, the government
The airport project will initially require at least 170 to 180 hectares of land, and is eyed for construction in the villages of Combado and Isugan and adjacent areas, he added. Asked about NOCCI’s role in the project, Du said they will assist in the appraisal of the properties that stand to be affected and to give the initial estimates “to find out if the budget of P300 million is enough or not.” Also, NOCCI has a stake in the project because some of its members own properties in the proposed new airport site, he said. The Dumaguete-based businessman said there is still no clear picture of how many landowners and houses will be affected by the airport project even as many residents of Bacong have already expressed fear of losing their properties to the government in exchange for a low price. Du, in response to this,
said that NOCCI’s role is to help in the negotiations to come up with a “fair price” that would not be too high for government nor too low for the property owners. “We need to know how many lot owners have houses, how many have coconut or other trees, how many have improvements, etc. so that when negotiations start, we know how to negotiate, and we must have a database,” Du said.
Those with houses will be prioritized because they will be displaced, he added. (Judy F. Partlow/PNA)
