Winterfield Realty Presents Experienced Property Agent, Darrell Warren, MRICS

“Having been in the profession for over 30 years, this is my passion – I simply love what I do. I have achieved success by always putting my clients first.”

Q:What is the property market like? A: In the past, the growth cycle here has not been a “mad boom” but more of a moderate up-cycle with steady growth. From my understanding of the market today, we are seeing more conservative levels of activity than previous years. Last year on the whole, Spanish property prices grew by some 7.8% whereas this year it is expected to be less than half that level. However, the market remains vibrant with the anticipated number of houses sold to increase by 4-5%. Te market in the summer months

is notoriously quiet but Winterfield is keeping active with a vast selection of properties on our books – new and re-sales; something for every budget.

Q: Which particular area do you see as being a good place in which to live and invest? A: Estepona is experiencing a great deal of development brought about by the amount of available land not only in the town centre but also in surrounding areas and of course along the New Golden Mile. Inland, the town benefits from excellent golf courses and views to the sea. Te town itself is seeing development of what was once wasteland, now being developed into quality apartment complexes. Along the A-7, more projects offering varying types of accommodation are underway on both sides of the highway. I believe the Mayor’s work and the

public projects such as the new Estepona Hospital , the charm of the “Old Town”, the flowers and even the coastal path Senda Litoral, all help to make the town a very attractive town in which to live.

Q: Why do you think the Costa del Sol coastline continues to be so popular? A: Te sight of the sea, the sound of the waves and the quality of life will always draw people to the coast. Tat together with the individual characteristics of the towns such as Sotogrande, Estepona, Puerto Banus, Marbella, Fuengirola, Benamadena, and Malaga will continue to attract and retain their niche markets.
