Sixth Form success at Farlingaye High School
FARLINGAYE High School’s Sixth Form students have again excelled in their A levels and Vocational Level 3 courses. The
grades of our Year 13 students are excellent overall, with 81% of all grades at A*-C, and 99.4% of all grades at A*-E. Of our 208 A
level students, 66 have achieved ABB or better.
These excellent results will enable many students to begin prestigious university courses, at institutions such as Cambridge, Durham, York and UCL. We were delighted to find that all of our potential Medicine students secured their places.

There have been a number of exceptional individual performances. Some of the students who have done particularly well are as follows: Lucy Reeve - 4A*s at A Level. Going on to study Medicine at the University of Cambridge. Lucy: “Sixth Form has been an amazing experience. The staff have been so helpful, especially my Head of Year who did a huge amount of work with me to help me get ready to apply for my Medicine course. Now I am really looking forward to life at Cambridge.”
Alex Richards - 3 A*s and 1 A at A Level. Starting a
degree course in Physics at the University of York. Alex: “Thanks to all the staff who helped me over the past two years. I’ve had great support.” Annabel Anderson - 2 A*s
and 1 A at A Level. Going on to study Law at the University of Nottingham. Annabel - “I am really pleased - this was a goal I’d set myself so I knew I had to do it! I’m really happy that I moved school to come to Farlingaye for Sixth Form. ”
Annabel Cooke - 2 A*s, 1
A and 1 B at A Level. Going to Durham to study Chemistry. Made a fantastic contribution to music at Farlingaye, developing her musical skills and her leadership qualities, but balanced these efforts very well with academic work. Annabel: “I have so much appreciated the extra efforts of staff, who dedicate themselves to helping us to get good grades and to develop
ourselves.” Vacha Fadia – 2 A*s and 2
As at A level, with an A* in the Extended Project Qualification. Taking a place to study Medicine at UCL. Vacha: “I joined Farlingaye for Sixth Form and it has been great. There have been so many opportunities for me to do amazing things, like going to Germany for three weeks in the summer to help me develop my language skills. I wasn’t sure that I was going to be able to take Medicine and was hesitant about applying, but the staff told me I could do it, and they were right! They encouraged me so much - it made a real difference.” Headteacher,
Andy
Sievewright, said, “I am so pleased for our students. They have really deserved all their success. The excellent overall results
in A level and Level 3 vocational courses, and the fantastic performances in the Extended Project Qualification
