Visitors to Aldeburgh will have noticed a new shop on the high street. In fact, it is quite hard to miss thanks to the huge sausage dog on the pavement! Wag & Bone came to Aldeburgh in April and has quickly become a favourite with both two and four legged visitors!

Wag & Bone opened on April

6th and is owned and run by husband and wife team, Gary & Jacqui Thompson. As the name rather suggests, this is a pet shop offering the modern- day pampered pooch anything they could want from everyday essentials to modern luxuries. The shop may be relatively

small but it is filled with food, treats, collars, harnesses, leads, cooling jackets (great in these warmer months), beds, car mats, carry cases, toys, bowls, shampoos, breath fresheners, treat pouches, and plenty more. The more fashion-conscious hound might select a trendy superhero collar or a matching

bow tie and collar set. Of course, we all love our

furry friends, they are an extension to our family, put a smile on our faces when we feel a bit sad and make us get outside and exercise with them on their daily walks. So, if you want to give you dog a treat then this is the place to come. As well as trendy bow ties and bandanas there are a range of tasty treats and even a bottle of something nice to drink such as Pawsecco or Bottom Sniffer beer.

Gary and Jacqui are an independent business, they are not tied to any specific suppliers. As such they can stock what they like. There has been a conscious effort to source natural and ethical products and this is proving popular as more and more people are discovering this fantastic shop. Of course, the pair are always

on hand to offer help and advice – perhaps in selecting the correct size and style of

harness or with regards to puppy training leads. Come in, try it on and go for a wander along the high street – it is a simple, old-fashioned and very effective approach to customer service. Gary and Jacqui used to

visit the area on holiday and so have a fondness for the Suffolk Heritage Coast and all it has to offer. Having the opportunity to set up a business here was too good to miss so when they learnt about the shop being

available they moved quickly and have not looked back. Whether you need a new

lead, food bowl, bed or just want to pamper you pooch this is the place to come, and with a selection of gift ideas for their humans too you can’t go wrong. This is a paradise for dog and dog-lovers alike. Please pop into the shop at 127B High Street, Aldeburgh, visit or call 01728 453366 for any further information.
