Montessori is a comprehensive educational approach based on the observation of children's needs in a variety of cultures all around the world.


What is Montessori?


Children in Montessori classroom learn through play, “Play is the work of the child” she says.


Dr. Maria Montessori developed this educational approach based on her understanding of children's natural learning tendencies as they unfold in “prepared environments".


“The environment must be rich in motives which lend interests to activities and invite the child to conduct his own experiences”.


Montessori classrooms have children of multi-age groups where they learn by making discoveries with the materials, cultivating concentration, motivation, self-discipline, and a love of learning. She believes children become “lifelong learners” if they enjoy learning.


“Within the child lays the fate of future”, therefore as the educators we must respect them, meet their needs and teach them well.
