The Samuel Beckett Bridge is in Dublin City. It was named after the famous Irish writer Samuel Beckett and designed by the internationally famous Spanish architect, sculpter and engineer, Santiago Calatrava.


The shape of its spar and cables are said to evoke an image of an Irish harp lying on it’s edge.


It was constructed in Rotterdam by Hollandia who also made the London Eye. It officially opened on the 10th December 2009
