Hawkinge SpitfireS Club The club is for the over 55's and we meet once a month on the second Wednesday in Hawkinge Village Hall. We have a variety of interesting speakers, music afternoons and outings during the year. Visitors are welcome and the cost is £3.00 including tea and biscuits. The next meeting is on Wednesday 9th January 2019 in Hawkinge Village Hall at 2.30pm. The guest is Megan Fagg from Wiltshire Farm Foods. the folkestone branch of the british Sugarcraft guild .... invite you to join us at St Andrews Hall , Surrenden Road Cheriton. We meet on the first Saturday of each month except in January 1.30pm until 4pm. Come along and see what we do with all forms of sugar and all methods of working with it old and new. Learn from trained demonstrators, join in workshops and talk to our members who are beginners through to old hands. They would be pleased to share their knowledge. This month there will be no formal meeting again as we will be working on our competition work and we do not meet in January . In February we will be having a cupcake workshop so more about that in January. Happy Christmas.

etCHingHill Village Hall - filM nigHt On Monday 21st January 2019, the Residents' Association will be screening “THE GUERNSEY LITERARY AND POTATO PEEL PIE SOCIETY” (12) History/Drama/Romance. Starring Jessica Brown Findlay, Tom Courtenay and Michiel Huisman. A correspondence begins between Juliet Ashton and members of The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society sharing their experiences of Nazi Occupied Guernsey. When an idea for a book catches Juliet, she goes to visit the island making lifelong friends and taking life changing steps along the way. A beautiful story of love, friendship and the sadness of friends lost. Doors open at 7 pm for a 7.30 pm start. The entrance fee of £5.00 includes, admission, refreshments and a lucky draw ticket.
