Awnings for Retail and Hospitality
Awnings can be a valuable investment for restaurants and pubs as they allow you to offer shaded alfresco dining during the warmer months, increasing the popularity of your premises.
The sun can often be too hot or bright in the summer months and a shade structure such as an awning would offer shade from the sun’s heat and glare, enabling your customers to sit outside and enjoy the outdoors whilst keeping protected in the shade.
Awnings can also be used to create a sheltered, designated smoking area away from your non- smoking customers therefore keeping everyone happy!
Awnings offer many benefits to shops too as they can enhance a shop front and, as signage can be included on an awning, they can also promote your business and make your building stand out from the crowd. As an added bonus, awnings will keep the building inside cooler when installed above a window and this can be a benefit to any business!
Awnings are available in many styles, sizes and colours to suit your building, as you will find out over the next few pages of this guide.
Case Study: Parson Street Primary School The awnings that we installed at Parson Street
Primary School are a great example of how retractable awnings can provide the flexible, effective cover and shade that helps a school make the most of its outside space. At 7
metres by 4 metres these awnings cover a substantial area that extends an existing outdoor play area. The fabric used in the awnings was chosen to fit in with the colours of the exiting buildings, especially the blue trim.
When retracted the awnings are neat and tidy and do not interfere with the structure of other pieces of equipment.
The school was very happy with their awnings, saying,
"The awnings look excellent, a great addition to our foundation stage classrooms. Teachers, parents and children really enjoy them. The workmen who worked on site were great, very helpful and fitted in around our days.”
