THE COOK BOOK SEVENOAKS, TONBRIDGE, TUNBRIDGE WELLS IS NOW OFFICIALLY HERE AND AVAILABLE TO BUY
Aftermuch anticipation and excitement, The Cook Book Sevenoaks, Tonbridge, TunbridgeWellswas launched at talented chefWillDevlin’s The SmallHolding in Kilndown, Cranbrook.Over 85 guests gathered together to celebrate the launch, including the Mayor and Mayoress of TunbridgeWells Cllr Len Horwood and his wife Mrs Judy Horwood. Many of the contributors in the book were also there and provided a selection of dishes for everyone to try. Needless to say they looked and tasted incredible.
Will’s restaurant is one of the amazing foodie businesses contributing to the book. Celebrating the secrets fromthe area’s best loved kitchens and producers, the book is packed full of delicious recipes for you to try at home. Whatever your taste there really is something in there for everyone. The Cook Book is totally unique in its offering, as it not only showcases recipes from each contributor but the stories behind each of them. To provide a flavour of what else is included, other contributors in the book include Sankeys; check out The Sankey’s Smokie. This dish is the most popular item on the menu at the Seafood Kitchen on Mt Ephraim. The Poet at Matfield features their delicious Tuna Tataki with Miso mayonnaise.Whiting and Hammond providing some of our favourite pub food in the area have given us a number of recipes including their amazing baked New York style cheese cake with clementine compote. Other names to look out for are Framptons who feature a signature bloody Mary. This is a take on the original but according to Framptons is the best you’ll ever have. I leave it to you to decide on that one. Cocolicious in Cranbrook combines delicious yet nutritional brunches and lunch with sweet treats. You are going to really enjoy making their salted caramel Lamingtons as they are so tasty.
Kent born Celebrity Chef Michel Roux Jr. has taken a keen interest in the book from the outset and has written the forward. Michel Roux Jr. comments: “I might be biased, but I believe that it is food that brings people together in a way that so few other things can. Through food we can create together, eat together and put the world to rights! Each recipe and story in this book lovingly threads together a community and all in order to raise money for a vital cause.”
The Cook Book is published in conjunction with independent cook book specialists Meze Publishing. Copies of the book are available to buy from any of
the contributors in the book or from
www.treeofhope.org.uk/shop The book will also be available to buy at selected book shops. We anticipate demand for The Cook Book to be high and to provide the perfect Christmas present for anyone who is interested in food and supporting their local community.
Gill Gibb, CEO at Tree of Hope comments: “We would like to say a big thank you to everyone who has been involved in The Cook Book and especially to all the contributorswho have supported us throughout. A special thank you also to Caroline Kings fromEat Around Tonbridge, Food Photographer Severien Vits who is responsible for all the photographs in the book and Events Organiser and foodie Charlotte Rogers who have been working tirelessly from be- ginning to end.
