TVYO provides talented youngsters from across the North East with the opportunity to play challenging orchestral works in local venues such as SAGE Gateshead and also in Europe. 2019 is the 50th anniversary of the orchestra with a gala concert planned in May at the SAGE and culminating in a summer tour to New York to play at the world renowned Carnegie Hall.

Research shows that children that walk to school are more focused and have an easier time concentrating, the school walk builds in daily exercise and fosters independence and road safety skills. Walking to school also saves money. With rising pollution, more congestion at the school gates and a rise in children’s obesity the walk to school is one simple solution that supports positive change in our region.
