ESPITE our best efforts to reach a compromise deal with WH Smith regarding the sale of Speedway Star in their shops, their insistence that Pinegen Limited pay a surcharge of over £12,000 per annum for the privilege is simply unacceptable. Sales of Speedway Star in WH Smith


represent around 10 per cent of copies sold through newsagents, supermarkets, etc. and while we recognise that it is a gamble to reluctantly go down this route, it is one that we must take.


For those of you who have regularly bought your copy of SS at a WH Smith shop, we sincerely hope that you will find alternative means to acquire your weekly dose of the magazine.
