Located near to the town of St Lo, deep in the French countryside, the 375-year-old, beautifully restored Château is new to the market. Steeped in history, the property is set in 60 acres of lush park and woodland and is easily accessible from both theUK and Paris. Just a 50-minute drive fromNormandy’s main tourist attractions,Mont StMichel, Bayeux and theD-Day Landing beaches and cemeteries, are all close by.
A veritable home-from-home, the property’s English owners use it as their second residence and it has a multi-generational appeal for thosewishing to holidaywith the family. The Château is dog-friendly and welcomes well-behaved four-legged friends. Aswell as fourmain rooms on the ground floor, the Galerie, the Salon, the Cuisine and the Salle a Manger, the Château has nine luxurious, individually designed bedrooms, seven of which are en-suite and all of which can accommodate two people either in a double or twin. Five bedrooms are on the top floor of the house, four are on the middle floor and the decadent master bedroom boasts its own dressing room and snug in the turret.
There are comfy sofas aplenty and three large dining tables to cater for between 8 and 18 people,making it perfect for families and groups of friends. There is a games room with a pinball machine and table football, a library in the tower, two grand pianos in the salon and galerie and a small gym in the cellar for those wanting to keep fit. The Château also has WiFi, Chromecast and a large selection of DVDs.
Outdoors, guests canwork off their excesses on the tennis court or take a stroll around the Château’s immaculately-lawned gardens, which lead to the White Terrace and the spectacular Potager. Here, tucked away in the old walled garden, fresh fruit and vegetables are grown for most of the year, in a totally organic environment. There are also 14 hives, so plenty of honey for the breakfast table.
The property is listed as a site classé and boasts impressive views of the surroundingNormandy countryside. Its 60 acres of private park and woodland can be explored all year round via a series of well-maintained footpaths which have been restored by the family.Within the woods there are 14 Stations of the Cross and the area was a recognised pilgrimage site for many years.

Although the property is self-catering, its gardiens live in a separate cottage in the grounds and are always on hand to help. Additionally a chef, housekeeper or any other extra services such as breakfast preparation can be arranged.
There is much to see in the immediate vicinity. The woods lead directly to La Chapelle-sur-Vire, an elegant neo-Gothic Chapel dating from the 12th century, and the Route de Halage, a cycle and hiking path which leads all the way down to the coast.
The Château is 50 minutes’ drive from the airport and ferry terminal at Caen and just an hour from Cherbourg. Both Lison and Villedieu-les-Poeles rail stations are just 30 minutes away whilst the Eurotunnel Terminal is 250 miles away and easily accessed fromthe Autoroute. Paris is a two and a half hour drive from the Château via the A13 and A84 Autoroutes, with the nearest junction just 8 miles away.
The Château can accommodate up to 18 guests and costs up to £1,500 per night during peak season and over Christmas.
