Gallaghers’ chief exec to ‘hand over baton’
THE chief executive of the Gal- lagher Group, Nick Yandle, will leave his job at the end of the year. Mr Yandle, who has been in the
post for 13 years, said itwas time to hand on the baton to a newgenera- tion. But he will stay within the or- ganisation in an advisory capacity. MrYandle receivedwarmtributes

AWORLD Cup campaign to target drink drivers sawmore than 200 ar- rested across Kent. The action, fromJune 14 to July15
to coincide with the football, re- sulted in the arrest of 224motorists. Of those arrested, 182 were for
driving under the influence of alco- hol and 42 on suspicion of drug driving offences. Officers were pro-actively pa-
trolling high risk locationswhich re- sulted in 102 motorists being charged, 86 released pending fur- ther enquiries and 36 people being releasedwithout charge.

THE family of Maidstone woman Gill Kennedy, who died from a brain tumour, have created a legacy in her name. Gill, who lived in East Farleigh,
died just 19months after diagnosis. Her family established the Gill
