Pastoral Care Being away from home at boarding school is a rewarding experience however, it is only natural for children to experience some degree of homesickness at some stage in their boarding life. While our House Parents are on hand 24/7 to offer help and support, we also run a twice termly ‘Home from Home’ group. This is organised by our school Wellbeing Coach, Mahwish Qamar, and provides boarders with an opportunity to discuss any worries and concerns they might have.

Exeat weekends

Sibford School has just one compulsory Exeat Weekend where boarders are expected to go home or stay with their guardians. This takes place on the weekend of the early May Bank Holiday.

The remaining four exeats (in September, November, January and March) are now ‘Exeat Staycations’ where students can, if they wish, remain on campus where extra activities are provided to entertain them.
